Ultrafiltration is a membrane filtration process in which the water is pressed through a semi-permeable membrane (hollow fiber technology) at normal household water pressure so that only fresh, clean water and dissolved minerals are allowed to pass through.
Macromolecular substances and small particles such as heavy metals and pollutants are filtered out.
The exclusion limit of ultrafiltration is between 2 and 100 nanometers, as opposed to 5 microns for sediment filters.
This means that much smaller particles are filtered out. The filtration process enables the removal of up to 99.8% of all flavors and contaminants.
Trace elements and minerals are not removed from the water.
This filter is specific for the following devices:
- Aquarello PURE1
- Aquarello SODA2
